PROTEMO at the ECPR General Conference 2025
From 26–29 August 2025, the PROTEMO team together with its sister project PLEDGE participated in the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) General Conference at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Researchers from Saarland University, the University of Coimbra and Southampton University presented several papers based on ongoing PROTEMO research, including insights from the Deep Dive Ukraine study and comparative analyses of social representations of protection, security, and migration across 11 countries. Topics addressed included the role of emotions in protective policy acceptance, the dynamics of migration-related insecurity, and the emotional and moral mechanisms underlying migration violence.
The presentations contributed to the “Democracy Under Pressure – Contributions from Political Psychology” section, across panels on Emotions in Political Research and Emotions from Below: Emotional Dynamics of Migration, Insecurity and Politics in Europe.
Participation in the ECPR General Conference provided PROTEMO with a valuable opportunity to present cutting-edge research, exchange ideas with peers, and strengthen international academic networks.
