Consortium Meeting Warsaw

From 29 June to 2 July, the PROTEMO consortium met in Warsaw to hold its Intermediate Workshop on theoretical, methodological and empirical results and challenges. With the aim to discuss first empirical results and theoretical arguments, researchers sought for synergies to enhance PROTEMO’s theoretical framework and empirical work now that the project has passed its half-time duration.

The workshop was split in four parts, relating to the different work packages (WPs):

  • Part I covered theoretical results and challenges from WP1 (incl. the framework and glossary),
  • Part II dealt with the methodological and empirical results and challenges from the surveys conducted in WP3 and WP4,
  • Part III continued with methodological and empirical results and challenges from the focus groups and deep dives (WP3 and 4), and
  • Part IV focussed on the planning of the next waves of the survey (WPs 2 and 3).

Besides this major focus of the Warsaw meeting, the consortium also discussed prospects of the recently launched WP5 as well as outreach strategies as part of WP7, including the further planning of in-person stakeholder and online policy events.

In addition, partner EURICE held a Policy Exploitation Strategy Seminar (PESS), exploring best ways and practices on how to make use of the expected policy outputs and how PROTEMO can assure their adoption by the policy making community.

Another highlight was the synergy meeting with PROTEMO' sister projects PLEDGE, MORES and ENCODE. Attending both in-person and online, the valuable contributions by the sister projects opened further options for collaborations with regard to a joint policy event planned for October this year, as well as efforts to jointly hosting the closing conference at the end of next year in Brussels. PROTEMO is grateful to have such engaged and cooperative sister projects whose willingness to co-create goes beyond contractual obligations.

A big thank you goes out to partner IPPAN that hosted the event in beautiful and vibrant Warsaw.
